i did the same with the spray >_< i've colored wafer paper with oil w/ powdered food coloring and painted it on and it had a nice effect

An Idea, What if you used something like Crisco to give your leaves a bit of shine! Would that work?
When you attach your leaves to the cake, do you use buttercream?
Do the gel colors on the leaves rub off on the fondant? Is there a way to set it?
